I painted a 750 square foot condo (studio) in Chicago before selling it, and it cost about $40.00. It took all day, was kinda labor intensive, but was worth it. My condo had an offer within a week of painting, so it was worth it.
I麓m going to paint parts of our condo here in Germany, and 脥麓m looking forward to color instead of these cream walls:)I want to paint my parts of my house, is painting your home expensive...and is it fairly easy?,?
It's fairly easy to paint your house. It takes a bit of time/effort, but is well worth it.
Shop around for a quality paint that is on sale. Paint always goes on sale or rebates are offered.
Make sure you properly fill in the nail holes with drywall compound or putty, you will probably have to sand it after it dries, then prime the area.
If you are changing your paint color drastically, you should prime it first. (If going from white to a dark color, use a tinted primer.) Tape around the edges to give a smooth edge.
Don't put too much paint on the roller, you don't want the paint to drip down the wall. Do the edges first, then start at the top and work your way down, to help prevent drips.I want to paint my parts of my house, is painting your home expensive...and is it fairly easy?,?
Not very expensive at all and very easy just make sure u do your prep work first!!!!
Painting is one of the easiest and most popular do it yourself home improvement projects.
If you haven't done it before, I suggest going to a good paint store or hardware store and get some advice.
Doing the job right the first time will save lots of time and future work.
Don't skimp on paint, get high quality for the job you are doing. It's fairly inexpensive.
To get a good paint that will last, figure on $30-$40 a gallon. Add in rags, brushes, rollers, scrapers, ladder, masking tape, caulk, etc. The paint should cover anywhere from 200-400 square feet per gallon. Dark colors actually cover less footage than light colors because they use a clear base instead of an opaque white base and you may need an additional coat.
You should power wash the house first (about $60/day rental at Home Depot plus another $10 for the soap) and then let it dry completely (a few days). Scrape any loose paint. Then go around and caulk in cracks. After that, paint away. Depending on the size of your house, the condition of existing paint and the amount of trim work, count on 4 days to a week of actual work time.
I am assuming that you are speaking of painting the exterior of the home.
well to diy isnt exactly eay bt if u dont want to pay full price its not a bad idea
Painting CAN be expensive. It CAN be very difficult. It also can be cheap and easy. Hope I helped you see clearly now.
If you are just going to paint walls one solid colour it's not that hard, if you want to get fancy and paint strips or designs then it can be harder. Just remember to wash your walls first to get off any dirt or grease and patch up holes if you have any. You don't have to get the top of the line paint and brushes, middle of the road ones do just as well. You don't need all of the those fancy brushes, trimmers and rollers that are on the market either. Talk to someone at your local hardware store and they can take you step by step through the process. If you let them know what your budget and experience is then they will steer you in the right direction and give you all the tips and pointers you need.
Just remember to have fun and if you make a mistake it can be fixed.
