Should i paint or stain the wood trim in my home?

im moving into my new home next week, but before i do i need to paint the inside. all the wood trim/doors in the house are unfinished, meaning the wood is natural with no stain or paint on it yet.

im not sure if i should paint or stain it? i dont really know the difference as far as how it will look... i imagine staining is harder/more costly....? i wanted to do a rich expresso brown color. what do you think i should do?Should i paint or stain the wood trim in my home?
This depends on the woodwork. If it is a beautiful wood trim then you would want to stain it. But if it is the less expensive trim found on most new homes these days, paint it white or cream. All the work to stain something so inexpensive is not worth the time and effort and wouldn't add anything to the look.Should i paint or stain the wood trim in my home?
I agree with dawnb, if it's a nice wood I would stain it, if it's a cheaper wood paint it. If you stain cheap wood it just makes the cheap wood look stand out. Staining isn't bad, but like painting, it's much easier if the trim is taken off.
