If the garbage companies see a closed container of paint (oil based or latex), they will not take it. They want you to leave the lid off, let the paint dry up, then throw it away. You can speed the drying by spreading the paint out to provide a thinner layer to dry.Home Owner? - oil based paint disposal in Harris County (not resident of Houston City limits?
throw it away in the neighbors trash or any bin in some apts
spread vis-queen out in your yard. pour the paint onto vis-queen and let it spread out. when it dries, wad up and dispose in normal trash. the paint is no longer harmful to the enviroment after it has dried. saw a painter do this after he finished my dads house here in lafayette la
Dump it out on plastic or cardboard. Leave the cans open then let everything dry. After that it is no longer a liquid. Just bag it up and throw it all away in the regular trash.
